Mercor onboarding is faster than most expect for accepted candidates and slower than most hope for the rest. The realistic 2026 timeline is below. ## Day 0: submit application A few personal details, declared expertise, optional LinkedIn or GitHub link. 20 minutes. ## Day 1-3: initial automated screen Mercor processes the application algorithmically. Candidates with clear demonstrable expertise in declared areas get fast-tracked; the rest get a longer screening test. ## Day 3-7: written screening test Domain-specific exercises (code-quality comparisons, reasoning prompts, written justifications). 45 to 90 minutes. ## Day 7-14: review A combination of LLM grading and human review on the borderline cases.
