Mexico Temporary Resident visa for remote workers

Mexico does not have a branded digital nomad visa, but the Temporary Resident visa serves the same purpose and is widely used by US-based remote tech workers. ## Eligibility Demonstrate monthly income above approximately 4 500 USD or savings of approximately 75 000 USD. Both must be sustained over the preceding six to twelve months on bank statements. ## Process Apply at a Mexican consulate outside Mexico. Approval typically within two to four weeks. Within 30 days of arrival, exchange for the residency card. ## Tax The Temporary Resident visa does not by itself create tax residency. Tax residency requires spending more than 183 days per year in Mexico.
