This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on advanced scientific problem creation, domain-specific reasoning review, technical writing, research-informed task development, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their subject matter expertise to create challenging problems in their field, evaluate technical reasoning, prepare structured written outputs, and support accurate, evidence-based STEM workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesProfessionals in this role may contribute to:Advanced STEM Problem Creation- Create difficult, domain-specific problems across fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, statistics, economics, or related STEM areas- Develop problems that require advanced reasoning, technical accuracy, and strong subject matter understanding- Write clear reference solutions, expected reasoning paths, and structured answer explanations- Ensure submitted work reflects rigorous domain knowledge and high-quality technical standardsTechnical Review & Scientific Reasoning- Review scientific or quantitative outputs for correctness, clarity, completeness, and reasoning quality- Evaluate assumptions, calculations, methodologies, and conclusions against domain-specific standards- Identify reasoning gaps, unsupported conclusions, ambiguity, and expected technical outcomes- Provide structured feedback that helps improve task quality and evaluation consistencyResearch-Informed Task Development- Apply PhD-level research experience to design challenging tasks grounded in real scientific, mathematical, computational, or analytical concepts- Translate complex domain expertise into clear, structured, evaluable task formats- Work independently on technical assignments requiring sustained focus and careful written communication- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted workIdeal ProfileStrong candidates may have:- PhD in a STEM field such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related technical discipline- Strong subject matter expertise and ability to design difficult problems within a specialized domain- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English- High attention to detail and strong analytical judgment- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality technical outputs- Comfort working on ongoing remote projects with structured requirements and clear deadlinesEducational Background- PhD from a U.S., U.K., Canadian, European, or comparable research university in a STEM field is strongly preferred- Research experience, academic publications, teaching experience, technical writing, or advanced applied work is highly relevant- Equivalent high-level research or domain expertise may also be relevant depending on project scopeNice to Have- Experience creating advanced problem sets, research tasks, technical assessments, or benchmark-style materials- Background in teaching, tutoring, academic research, peer review, technical evaluation, or scientific writing- Strong familiarity with mathematical notation, scientific methods, computational reasoning, data analysis, or domain-specific research tools- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and precisely- Availability for approximately 15–20 hours per week, with potential for increased project volume depending on performance and project needsWhy This Opportunity- Apply PhD-level STEM expertise to structured remote project work- Contribute to high-quality scientific problem design, technical reasoning review, and advanced analytical task development- Work on flexible assignments aligned with your academic or research background- Use your subject matter judgment in a focused, rigorous review environment- Remote structure with competitive hourly compensationContract Details- Independent contractor role- Fully remote with flexible scheduling- Expected commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week, with potential for expanded availability depending on project needs- Ongoing project structure with rolling applications- Competitive rates between $65–$105 per hour depending on expertise- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise- Selected professionals may complete a short interview as part of the process- Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance- Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institutionAbout the PlatformThis opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
